The November 1968 issue of Playboy USA was subtitled “The Election Issue” and featured a caricature of the presidential candidates Richard Nixon and Hubert Humphrey on the cover. The issue included an interview with then-presidential candidate Richard Nixon, as well as articles on politics, sex, and culture. Some notable features in this issue included an interview with black comedian and civil rights activist Dick Gregory, an essay on the importance of voting, a pictorial of actress Cybill Shepherd, and a profile of musician Frank Zappa. The issue also included fiction by John Updike and a centerfold of Playboy Playmate Paige Young.
